Build skills. Move up. Earn more.

Where Hard Workers Build Real Careers

So you’ve had some jobs. Jobs are great. You go to work, you earn, you go home, you pay the bills.

But here’s the bigger question: Are you growing? Are you learning? Are you gaining specialized skills? Are you moving up? Are you getting paid your worth?

At GSI, that’s exactly what you’ll find. Our business runs on small geotechnical construction crews, with four or five people working independently, learning, and solving problems together. The company doesn’t make a dime unless crews out in the field (more than 100 of them across our business) are doing the work the right way, every single day.

People who succeed here tend to be wired a certain way:

  • They jump in and try new things.

  • They listen and learn by doing.

  • They think ahead.

  • They like solving problems and fixing things.

  • They are safety-smart.

  • They can get along with all kinds of people.

If you don’t have the skills, we’ll teach you. If you do have geotechnical or similar experience, we’ll give you a place to practice your trade and grow.

somewhere you can grow, come join GSI.”

We’re Looking for People Who Can Grow — We Need You to Grow

It’s simple: our business only grows when we have more capable crews. And capable crews are built around leaders who know the ropes. That’s why we grow leaders from the inside; people who learn our way, follow our safety expectations, care for the machinery, and grow others the same way.

Most of our field Superintendents and Foremen came up through the ranks. So, the primary thing we look for in new crew members is the desire and ability to grow. If you have that, you belong here.

“However fast you want to learn… you can grow and it’s all on you. When my crew saw me jumping from Level 3 to Level 4 to Level 5 and now becoming their Superintendent, I felt proud of that. Without my leaders teaching me, I'm not the man you guys know now.”

Travel for Experience and a Bigger Paycheck

We go where the work is. Crews travel for weeks at a time, then rotate home. Every cost on the road is covered, including travel, food, hotels, and even some gear and clothing.

What do you get?

  • Seeing more of America, town by town

  • A new project and new skills every job

  • Being outside

  • Operating interesting machinery

  • The freedom of being on the road

  • Overtime hours and higher pay

If you can’t travel, we get it. If you can and will, you’ll do important work, see more of the country, and earn more as you learn.

“I was excited to get to travel… Your office view every day is pretty amazing. I’ve seen a lot of the country, and I’ve saved so much more money because meals, hotels, and travel are all covered — even some clothing items like our boots and safety gear.”

Careers built on safety, teamwork, and real-world impact.

We’re Building Things You Can Be Proud Of

A bridge that might fail. A railroad washed out by a storm. A slope sliding down onto a highway. These are serious problems, and our work solves them. We work with:

  • Community governments
  • Major contractors
  • Railroad owners
  • Highway departments

They call us because we can do things they can’t. Under nearly every major infrastructure project, GSI is working to make sure it stays standing and safe. If you want work that matters, work you can do with your hands, mind, and heart, it’s here.

“I feel like a hero, a silent, unsung hero… We fix roads and make it safe for people to travel. We can actually make a difference, whether somebody could live or not. I can step back and be proud of what I do.”

Teams That Grow and Succeed Together

In a small geotechnical construction crew, you don’t just work together, you know each other. You spend real time together:

  • 5–6 days a week.
  • 8–10 hours a day.
  • Eating meals, driving to job sites, learning, teaching, and bunking up at night.

It’s a big part of why people stay. Great teams are fun to be on. You look out for each other, help each other grow, and succeed together. If you like tight-knit crews, you’ll love it here.

“You got different people, different backgrounds, and it’s interesting to build relationships with them. Once you develop a rhythm, the crew becomes more like family… When we’re out on a job, we’re all we’ve got.”

You’re Our Boots on the Ground. We Care for You. We Trust You.

The work is hard. You’re away from home. That’s why we treat you like part of a team, not just a pair of hands. We listen. We support you. And we understand that work isn’t life. When things at home need you, we make sure you can be there.

“I always have a job at GSI… It’s constantly continuing. And they care about you as a person. If something is going on at home, they let me go take care of it.”
“They trust you here. If something happens, the company will back you up. Upper management takes care of you — you get treated fairly. You have a voice, an opinion.”
